Awana is an international, non-denominational,
Bible-centered youth organization providing weekly clubs and programs for
three-year-olds through sixth graders. The acrostic AWANA comes from the first
letters of Approved Workmen
Are Not Ashamed
(2 Timothy 2:15).
The pledge to the Awana flag best describes the
purpose of Awana. It says, "I
pledge allegiance to the Awana flag, which stands for the Awana Clubs, whose
goal is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and train
them to serve Him."
·
Reaching.
Jesus gave instruction to all believers, concerning evangelism (Matthew
28:19-20). Because it is an exciting ministry, Awana attracts children to the
church, where they can accept Christ as Savior and learn to live for Him.
·
Training.
Through Bible memorization and other Bible-based activities, children learn the
Word of God, which helps them establish and develop their relationship with
Jesus Christ, and it teaches them how to apply God's Word to daily living.
Our AWANA club meets on Wednesday evenings during the
school year from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Each weekly meeting is divided into three
distinct segments for our clubbers: Counsel Time, Game Time and Handbook Time.
