Our Church Officers

Deacons – Nine men are elected to serve as deacons, who are often considered as those who focus on the spiritual matters of the church. Deacons are elected to a three-year term, and the expiration dates are staggered to maintain continuity on the board and to allow others to be considered for the position.

Term ending 2008:  Aaron Brooks; John Caldwell; Dan Greear (chairman)  

Term ending 2009:  Mike Steadman; Rodney Pruden; Frank Whittaker  

Trustees – Three men are elected to serve as trustees, who are often considered as those who focus on the physical needs of the church. Trustees are elected to a three-year term, and the expiration dates are staggered to maintain continuity on the board and to allow others to be considered for the position.

Term ending 2008:  Marvin High  

Term ending 2009:  Dave Greear  

Advisory Council – Our Advisory Council meets at least once a month to discuss the business matters of the church. The 17-member Council includes: our pastor, the deacons, the trustees and four other appointed members of our congregation. These four individuals are appointed each year and are currently listed below:

 Kay Hundley – Church Secretary

Ray Hundley – Church Treasurer

Tim Whitener – Assistant Church Treasurer

Tom Whitener – Sunday School Superintendent

 Deaconesses – Twelve ladies are elected to serve as deaconesses, who are often considered as those who provide special assistance at various church functions.  Deaconesses are elected to a three-year term, and the expiration dates are staggered to maintain continuity on the board and to allow others to be considered for the position.

Term ending 2008:  Hildreth Deck; Ann Greear (chairperson); Kelly Sorah; Rozella Brooks (filling unexpired term)  

Term ending 2009:  Pat Drake; Bonnie Powell; Nancy Sanders; Carol Wingett  

Term ending 2010:  Sue Castle; Sue Hall; Marguerite Price; Janet White
