AWANA's Second turn in SC Parade

the "SON shine" in the sunshine
For the 2nd consecutive year, our AWANA clubbers and leaders came out in support of the South Charleston Christmas Parade on December 1, 2007. Over 40 clubbers walked and passed out candy to onlookers lining up along the parade route. Our float featured a manger scene, with Josh Pauley portraying Joseph and Chloe Gilbert portraying Mary.
Abby Steadman headed up a "street drama" team who literally took their message to the streets. Parents and family members of the clubbers also stayed around to be a part of the big event. Those AWANA clubbers who walked in the sunshine hopefully got to let others see the "SON" shine through our participation this year!
Our Christmas season certainly got kicked off in a great way and the parade was a great way to get our name out in the community.
