THEIR BEST
On March 15, 2008, over 100 young people (and their
leaders) from six different churches took part in the Area Teens Involved event,
hosted once again by Spring Hill Baptist Church. Everyone did their best while
competing, but they also realized that the real emphasis was using their talents
to serve the Lord.
Area
Word of Life Missionary Aaron Kingsberry opened things up and patiently kept the
schedule moving along all day. A total of no less than 66 individual and group
acts competed in various areas of music, preaching, drama, quizzing, puppets,
prose and web design.
Our youth group was able to qualify 17 entries that will
move on to the Regional Teens Involved event next month in Columbus, Ohio. It
should also be noted that all proceeds raised from the concession stand will be
used to send AWANA clubbers to Alpine Bible Camp this summer.
Our church family got to see many of these entries at different places and times, during either the March 12th Word of Life meeting or the AWANA Council Time that same night. Some of the presentations were made at the March 16th evening service.
