Jason Frazer

Our
August 2006 Member of the Month loves to travel. Over the last few months, he
and his wife have received a first hand introduction into what may be a future
calling. They attended a medical missions conference sponsored by ABWE and they
have received personal insight into the needs of children from a third world
country. For now, we can explore more about Jason Frazer.
When
I spoke to Jason, it came after a busy day on our recent Jamaica Missions Trip.
We had just returned home from a Wednesday night service at a local church where
the featured speaker, Shawn Kelly, referred to Romans 8:38 & 39 during his
message. It turns out that those same Scriptures are Jason’s favorite verses
in the Bible.
Being
raised in a close-knit family, Jason appreciates how his parents were good role
models for him. “We were going to be in church every Sunday morning,” he
recalls. “They also provided me with a good balance...giving me enough freedom
growing up while knowing when to keep me in line.”
These
days, Jason is currently shaping his life, being a newly-wed husband to the
former Sarah Pruden and getting through his 2nd year of residency as
a doctor with CAMC, specializing in pediatrics and internal medicine. The
Frazers celebrate their first wedding anniversary on August 6.
Jason adds, “I have learned a lot about myself from being married. I
can express my love for life in acts of service. Sarah feels that the Lord is
leading us toward missions and we are serving patiently until the Lord calls us
full-time.”
Jason
remembers the night he was saved. Sitting with his aunt at a summer revival in
Richwood, WV, Jason asked Jesus Christ to be his personal savior as an 8 year
old boy. Working in Sarah’s VBS class (consisting of 9, 10 and 11 year-olds) in Jamaica, Jason got to lead four of
those children to the Lord for a first-time profession of faith. He exclaims,
“This is the first time I have ever led someone to the Lord! What an awesome
experience!”
Jason
enjoys singing tenor in our church choir and plays piano by ear. While Jason
selects “The Wondrous Cross” by Phillips, Craig & Dean as his favorite
Contemporary Christian song, his hymn of choice is “My Anchor Holds.”
Because of his keen interest in astronomy, Jason could, at one time, tell you what time it was by just looking at the moon. His future options look bright and are as numerous as the stars in the clear Jamaican sky. Jason concludes, “I have a sense that the Lord will work things out in an amazing way. No problem, Mon!”
